CARBONNEUTRAL
By partnering with CarbonNeutral (carbonneutral.com), our organization fights actively against global warming. The services they provide vary from tactical incentives which inspire environmentally friendly behavior, to advice and marketing plans to help avoid and reduce emissions and CarbonNeutral activities. They measure carbon emission, reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible and offset the unavoidable emission through a portfolio of carbon saving projects.

SETTING THE ECO EXAMPLE
Chef Will Goldfarb, chef Kevin Pomplun and Ryan Fix from Picnick (a sustainable food kiosk located in Battery Park) will introduce eco-conscious methods to the event. They will demonstrate techniques for reducing the waste footprint generated by the event, including how bacteria can disintegrate food waste and how to choose biocompostable and biodegradable disposable containers, cutlery, and cups.

ORGANIC FRUIT BOOTHS
Fresh apples that have grown close to us will be available at local farmers’ booths. By eating organic produce guests are reminded of a way to maintain a healthy environment, and to support local economy.

SAVING ENERGY, LITTLE BY LITTLE
The event ends when the sun sets, to reduce energy consumption.
