CITY HARVEST

Part of the event’s entrance fees benefit the nutritional based charitable institution City Harvest, which will also have the opportunity to give information about their action on-site.

City Harvest, a non-profit organization founded in 1982, is the world's first and New York City's only food rescue
program. City Harvest is the link between those who have so much and those who have too little. City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. They do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.

URBAN PIKNIK’s donation will go to their children’s educational program: Fruit Bowl. This initiative supports early childhood-focused programs by introducing a regular supply of fresh fruit to New York City children. Fruit Bowl nutrition volunteers facilitate interactive nutrition games and activities with children ages three to five and six to twelve at
an assigned site.

City Harvest volunteer will be present on site and will give information about their local action in collaboration with local pantries in Brooklyn.
